From Compliance to Commitment: Building Respect Without Hazing

This session challenges participants to move beyond rule-following and toward a culture rooted in respect, accountability, and purpose. More than a checklist of rules, this session sparks critical conversations about what hazing is, why it persists, and how it undermines relationships and our goals. Participants will examine research-based truths, attitudes, justifications for hazing, and how hazing connects to ego, control, and separation. Through interactive reflection and dialogue, participants will explore how strong relationships can achieve the same goals without harm, understand the costs hazing carries, and commit to building organizations where new members feel valued and connected from the start.

The Difficult Dance of Accountability

Accountability is critically assessing things we care about and should be viewed as an act of love for ourselves and others. Many of us want to be in the business of friendship and fun, not the business of confrontation and accountability. When accountability is done thoughtfully, the focus shifts from punishment and negativity to growth and necessary change. Let’s discuss the importance of expectation-setting, how to navigate challenging situations, and moving toward a culture of accountability.

Lean into the Uncomfortable: Tools for Difficult Conversations

Engaging in difficult conversations is becoming more and more challenging for a variety of reasons. We are struggling to navigate conflict in a productive way, which is breaking down our teams, relationships, and our ability to work together. This session will focus on embracing the discomfort associated with difficult conversations through a lens of grace, seeking to understand, and the belief authentic feedback is a radical act of love. The goal is to equip attendees with the tools and confidence to skillfully navigate difficult conversations while also building our communication skills, trust within our relationships, and supportive environments.
